If you have don the High Impact Training, then you are familiar with the level of commitment required for Discipleship Training. Though the commitment requirements are very similar, the "Making Disciples Every Day" training is very different from the High Impact Training.
One difference you will notice is that there is not a commitment to two hours of "On Mission Training" each week as there was in the High Impact Training. This is because this training will involve your being on mission making disciples while fulfilling your commitment to the daily readings and daily encouragement calls. You will understand clearly as the training progresses.
Though you read the majority of what follows when you signed up for the High Impact Training, please read through it again so that you are fully prepared for "Making Disciples Every Day".
This training draws from Disciple Making Movements around the world that have already reached over ninety million lost people for Jesus, turning every one of them into disciple makers who are going out to reach others. These movements are recognized as having the most powerful impact on the world for Jesus in our generation.
The foundations of these movements are extraordinary prayer, surrender to the will and power of God and obedience to His word. People involved in these movements, therefore, are not casual participants in church programs and activities, but passionate followers of Jesus, who no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
This training is centered around obeying God; therefore, we would not want you to begin the training without asking God if the training is in the center of His will for you. This training is not for everyone, and only God knows if it is right for you. (Psalm 32:8)
This is not a course; it is a Training. Courses are about learning information. Training is about putting what we have learned into practice. For this reason, participation will involve more than attending classes: it will require changes in your daily habits and weekly activities.
Being a part of this training will require you to make major adjustments in your life. In addition to 90 minutes of training on Zoom each week, you will be committing to a minimum of 30 minutes in personal prayer and bible reading plus 30 minutes in prayer and encouragement with other disciples every day.
This adds up to nearly nine hours every week even before you take into account the many hours that you will spend actually putting into practice what you are learning on a daily basis. The training is developed for people with very busy lives, so you can definitely make the time available, but it will require sacrificing time in other areas like social media and entertainment. This is a huge commitment, but the rewards are truly life-changing. (Mark 10:28-32)
The fact that you have continued reading to this point means that you are looking for more in your life as a disciple of Jesus, something more like what you read about in the Bible. The lives of New Testament disciples of Jesus were filled with amazing love, inexpressible joy and supernatural power. The New Testament church was an unstoppable force radically impacting the world for Jesus. Isn't that the life you are looking for and the kind of mission you want to be a part of?
Jesus told Peter that those who leave other things to follow Him will receive 100 times more than what they leave behind. Yes there will be persecution and difficulty, but you can be sure that you will receive 100 times more than you will give up in order to follow Jesus!
The training will be offered Wednesday evenings on Zoom from 6:30 to 8:00 beginning August 30th and continuing through November 1st. Training meetings are recorded and can be viewed the following day for those who are unable to meet on Wednesday evenings. If you know that you will have to miss more than two of the ten meetings without being able to view them the next day, it will be best to do a later training.
You will be joining a 30 minute encouragement call every day throughout the training. The calls are offered at 5,6,7 and 8 AM every day and 5 PM Monday - Friday. (If none of these times will work for your schedule, we will start a new prayer call upon your request). The encouragement calls are a crucial and cherished part of the training. In conjunction with the encouragement calls, you will be spending at least 30 minutes of personal time in prayer and bible reading. If you are unable to commit to the calls and individual time, it will be best to find a different discipleship training.
